Previously I posted a blog about adding website URL to search engine database to allow the search engine to index the website and list in user search results. In addition to this, Google provides a webmaster tool for site owner to tell Google about their website sitemap. Site owner can upload their website sitemap (contains of all the URL and links of the website) to allow Google to index their website faster and more efficient.
In this post, I will explain how to find the Blogger sitemap and upload to Google webmaster tool.
1) Type your website for example. http://example.blogspot.com and with the robots.txt behind; http://example.blogspot.com/robots.txt
2) In that page, look for line with sitemap, in this example, http://example.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated
3) Create a Google Webmaster Account http://www.google.com/webmasters/
4) Add a site, in this case, http://example.blogspot.com
5) Under the dashboard on the left, click sitemap configuration and submit a sitemap.
6) Since the domain name is already included, specify portion of the URL from the sitemap, in this case, feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated
That's it. The webmaster will instantly indicate how many URLs submitted with this sitemap, and indexed from time to time.
