If your Google Chrome hasn't update itself to the latest version, you could do it manually by click the 'Customize and Control' Icon > About Google Chrome > Update Now.

I try it with this Japanese website http://www.yahoo.co.jp I enable the translation and choose English as the translated language. Works pretty nice! Try it yourself!
