Washington DC Cherry Blossoms

I knew about cherry blossoms (Sakura) in Japan (cause I read Doremon comic books. Okay, big deal..) But I wasn't aware that there actually has cherry blossoms in Washington DC (District Of Columbia), United States.

Here is the brief history of the cherry blossom in Washington DC.

Spring in Washington means thousands of blossoms turning the sky pink around the Tidal Basin. One million of people come to see, eat under, admire, ride by and walk among the famous trees. The blooming cherry tress - the focal point of the Nation's Greatest Springtime Celebration - did not always decorate the National Mall (DC). In fact, Japan's gift of 3,000 cherry trees to the United States in 1912 was the cultimation of the work of private and public citizens enamored of the cherry trees, who shared the dream of creating a blossom arbor in Washington. Nearly 30 years passed from the early dreamers to the planting of the trees in an area - the Tidal Basin - once considered too rough and swampy. Source - National Cherry Blossom Festival

These are some of the cherry blossom pictures I took. Isn't the cherry blossom beautiful?
