I was referred to this movie (American History X, 1998) by a friend. I was told that the movie is really good and it is about a man committed racial hate crime and later befriended a black man in prison. I check the review online and it has a 8.6 IMDB rating and pretty good review.
From the website, the movie is about a former neo-nazi skinhead tries to prevent his younger brother from going down the same wrong path that he did.
After I watched the movie, I totally agree with my friend that the movie is amazing. I was expecting some sort of educational preaching type of message. However, it turns out to be a very real and powerful movie. The movie does not provide a solution for racial discrimination or hate crime, but it illustrates the dangers, losses and pains it cause to oneself and his/her family and friends.
I would suggest every adult or student in high school to watch this movie.
Thoughts: It happens that today is Martin Luther King day. What a coincidence..
