Word Of The Day - Fleece, Baffle

Fleece - Obtain a great deal of money from (someone), typically by overcharging or swindling them
Baffle - Totally bewilder or perplex

"I (British expatriate John Gifford) then told the salesgirl that we would return with the money but upon checking, found out that it was not a legitimately-registered firm,” he said, adding that there were many other gullible people there during his visit who could have been fleeced by now.

“I am baffled as to how these con artists are allowed to operate in reputable shopping complexes and hypermarkets,” he said.
