Malaysian - Application For Postal Voting GE13

If you are a Malaysian residing oversea and would like to be eligible for postal voting on the coming General Election 2013, you will first need to apply for postal voting.


There are few requirements you need to fulfill for the postal application,

- A Malaysian, and
- Must be a registered voter, and
- Living overseas except in Singapore, South Thailand, Brunei, and Kalimantan (Indonesia), and
- Had been in Malaysia for at least 30 days in the past five years before the date of dissolution of parliament or state assembly

If you meet all above conditions, you are required to fill-in form 'Borang 1B' (downloaded from SPR) and send it to Election Commission headquarter at Putrajaya either,

- Email to upup@spr.gov.my, or
- Fax to +603-8881 1201/ 1202 / 1187 / 1192, or,
- Mail to the address below,

Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia Aras 4-5, Blok C7,
Kompleks C Pusat Pentadbiran Kerajaan Persekutuan 62690 Putrajaya
(Attn : Unit Pengurusan Undi Pos Luar Negara)

Please be reminded that the postal voting application for this election (GE13) will only be accepted from Jan 21, 2013 to the closed of the day of the dissolution of the Parliament or state assembly.

Update
The prime minister of Malaysia, Dato' Sri Mohammad Najib Abdul Razak announced the dissolution of Parliament on April 3, 2013 ahead of the General Election 2013. Detail can be found here at 1Malaysia blog.

While filing the form, you need to determine which Malaysia representative office (consulate / embassy) to receive postal voting voucher. This link has the list of the offices.

You also need to determine your respectively DUN/parliament with your identity card number. If you have previously registered, you should be able to find it here through this link.
