Google Books blog publishes a story today about how Google Books helped reunite a World War II veteran and a holocaust survivor. The story started of the author of 'Two Gold Coins and a Prayer: The Epic Journey of a World War II Bomber Pilot and POW' have his book uploaded to Google Books. The book is a memoir of author's father (James H Keeffe, Jr.) experience in WWII. There is one part that his American B-24 bomber was shot down over Southern Holland. He was hiding in several safe house in Rotterdam and one of the home owned by Dr. Jappe-Alberts, a Jewish family where the parents and an eight year old daughter hid up in the attic.About 6 months ago, the Jewish daughter, Helen Cohen-Berman found the memorial on line and realized she was reading about herself as the young girl and her family. She contacted the author and author's dad. After several months of planning, they reunited together on September 13, 2011 at Seattle.
